Clementine A Clementine Book Sara Pennypacker Marla Frazee Books

My then seven-year-old niece ran up to me one day and asked in an urgent tone if I had read Clementine. Confused and thinking of the fruit, I hesitatingly said, “No?” She ran off and returned seconds later, thrusting the book into my hands. She insisted I read it. I’m so glad I did!

Clementine is laugh out loud hilarious! I read the whole series within a week or so. It’s Junie B. Jones-ish, but on a higher reading level with a little more complex issues.

Now I read the first in the series with my fourth graders, and many of the kids will continue the series on their own.

Sometimes when the kids are reading to themselves, I’ll hear someone laugh out loud. I will glance over and often see that they are reading Clementine, and I will think back to that day my niece insisted I read this delightful book.

Clementine A Clementine Book Sara Pennypacker Marla Frazee Books Reviews

I purchased the boxed set of three for my grandchildren, I'm betting they will love them as much as I do!
Clementine is one of those kids who don't seem to be looking for trouble, but it finds her anyway. She's busy paying attention to the world around her, but not necessarily in a way that makes the grown-ups who surround her happy. My daughter found her ongoing internal conversation very funny and I heard her laugh out loud multiple times while reading this book. Clementine is bright, funny and spunky without being rude or snarky. The style reminds me a bit of the Roscoe Riley books for the younger set and is equally as charming.
Clementine is a good kid who has the occasional "what were you thinking moment". Many of the authors who try these kinds of book, including some of the best known and most often recommended, can be surprisingly tone deaf about what is cute and what is funny. Many are bad at including siblings or parents in the tales. In the Clementine books, like in the "Ivy & Bean" books, our heroine is cheerful, energetic, bright, loyal and always well-intentioned without being anywhere near sappy or prissy. The parents are calm, loving and reasonable. That makes these books easy to like and a pleasure to recommend.
Best written kids book I’ve seen in a while. It really gets inside the head of a wild and brainy kid. It’s funny and surprising at every turn. I enjoy it as much as my 6yo daughter. TBH it’s a bit too crazy in parts. I skipped over Clementine’s description of how to fake washing your hands and get away with it.
If you love a good chuckle, you will love Clementine. If you love Dennis the Menace comics or Calvin and Hobbes you will love this books.
Clementine is a third grader who is bright, creative and probably too smart for her own good.
My girls won't allow me to read this one aloud to them anymore because every time I read it I can't stop laughing.
I am so glad that I decided to purchase this book as a read aloud for my classroom. My students can't wait for me to read another chapter. Both my girls and boys are interested in the story which is often a difficult task to accomplish. Clementine is a unique character and allows a lot of possibilities for discussions and tying in standards from the common core. My students are excited to read more books in the series.
This book is an awesome choice for 2nd grade level readers. I only say that because I am a 2nd grade teacher and my students love her, but some words I still have to help them with, but not very often. is the first book in the now seven book Series. So far my two daughters say that they love the Clementine books, and now are becoming obsessed with Clementine and her whole story plot about her. They also say they can relate to many things that happen to Clementine, good or bad experiences!

Clementine a very witty character that my daughters love and adore. They follow her through her ups and downs of life. They bring their kindle tablets everywhere just so that they can listen to Clementine anywhere and everywhere! They say the Clementine series is the best series they have both ever ever read! I read them the actual books at night before bed.

I would recommend this book series to all kids and parents alike. I enjoy reading the series with my daughters, and of course, like I earlier said, they absolutely love the series. So get this, it totally worth every penny that I used to buy it!
